Information Security Analyst

Position Summary:

Information security team member contributing to planning, deploying, and managing security measures for controlling risk in customer environments.

Job Duties:

  • Information Security Analyst
    • Work with customers to document and to assess their environment for risk.
    • Work on a team and individually, providing periodic updates to team members.
    • Use company provided methodology for assessing risk in customer environments.
    • Evaluate risk of new technological solutions for customers.
    • Propose controls that mitigate risk.
    • Propose safeguards that confirm risk is reduced by implemented controls
    • Assist with operational tasks e.g. incident response, code review, scripting
    • Perform work securely within secured environments as directed.
    • Create solutions that balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements.
  • General
    • Stay abreast of information security issues and regulatory changes.
    • Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor or co-worker in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Perform related duties and projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical or engineering field or supplemental professional experience. Relevant experience can be substituted for degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers in potentially stressful environments.
  • Understand how to perform a risk-based approach to securing applications, databases, or infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of how to build repeatable and reusable processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of or experience with security architecture framework.
  • Knowledge of threat landscape, security threat and vulnerability management, as well as security monitoring and analytics.
  • Awareness of compliance frameworks and requirements such as PCI, HIPAA, SOX, etc.
  • Knowledge/experience with open source tools and environments including Linux, ssh, openvpn, or similar solutions is preferred but not required.
